Tackling the skills gap

Four in five youngsters (81 per cent) feel they didn’t get the right skills and experience while at school needed to get a job, according to research by volunteering and training organisation City Year UK.

This research highlights the need of programmes that support students to develop their skills and gain high-impact work experience that will provide them with the tools to perform at entry level jobs right after graduation.

At Empowering Futures we support the development of skills such as team-work, time management, problem solving and communication skills. The skills gap is evident but there are options for everyone to develop the skills needed at the work place.
